sbobet asian Paul Pogba is still "one of the best players in the world" despite his "complicated" situation at Manchester United, according to France captain Hugo Lloris.

Pogba has struggled for both form and fitness this season and has been left out of the starting XI in United's last three games in all competitions.

Despite his domestic struggles, Pogba was included in the 25-man France squad for the upcoming friendlies against Colombia and Russia and Lloris believes the international break could help the midfielder recapture his best form.

"Paul stays a strong player in our team, he is one of our leaders," said Lloris. "This season is a little bit complicated but he was injured so that could explain why he was not consistent all the time.

"But he already proved with Manchester or France that he is one of the best players in the world if he is at 100 per cent. Now he is more mature. sbobet asian

"He knows his place, his responsibilities. I have no doubt that he will be ready for this huge competition and show his best side."

France boss Didier Deschamps expects Pogba to return to his best in time for the upcoming World Cup in Russia.

"Everyone is talking about Paul now. He has a complicated situation at Manchester. But he did not lose his football and what he knows how to do," said Deschamps.

"I have talked with him. I deal with him the same way that I deal with other players. Maybe not the same as all the players but he is not outcast.

"Sometimes you need to encourage them sometimes even to comfort them, let them know I trust them.

"Sometimes you need to tell the truth, being more aggressive. That's management. I need to put the players in the best possible conditions.

"Sometimes they come not in good physical or psychological conditions but the truth in November is not the same in March and will be different in May/June when we prepare for the World Cup." sbobet asian

wwwpic5678 Relegation-threatened Southampton will be looking for a much-needed win when they travel to Leicester on Thursday. bSaints are five points from safety in the Premier League having lost their last three games in a row.

That run includes a 3-2 defeat to Chelsea at the weekend when Saints were 2-0 up after 60 minutes. With Southampton also set to face Chelsea in the semi-finals of the FA Cup on Sunday, Saints midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg says "the next few weeks are life-changing".

"Wherever our paths go, and wherever all our ways go, whether it's short-term or long-term, this will all change our lives, this will all change our way of looking on football. wwwpic5678

"We don't want people to feel sorry for us. As lucky as we are, we're the ones who brought on this situation and we're the ones who will - not who can, or who have to, or who might - we are the ones who will get us out of this situation." Leicester saw their hopes of a seventh-placed finish fade after a 2-1 defeat to Burnley at the weekend. The loss leaves the Foxes nine points behind the Clarets with five games left to play. wwwpic5678

MessagePosté le: Ven 20 Avr - 11:48 (2018)    Sujet du message: Why are Arsenal fans staying away? Paul Merson, Alan Smith, Répondre en citant

maxbet Seeing empty seats at the Emirates Stadium has become the norm in recent months as Arsenal's Premier League campaign meanders to its conclusion, but why are the fans staying away? Attendances at Arsenal's home league games have dwindled since the Gunners' 3-0 defeat to Manchester City at the start of March, with many season-ticket holders opting to skip games against Watford, Stoke and even the Europa League quarter-final clash with CSKA Moscow.

Ahead of Arsene Wenger's side's match with West Ham, which is live on Sky Sports Premier League on Super Sunday, skysports.com asked former Gunners Paul Merson and Alan Smith, Islington Gazette's Arsenal reporter Layth Yousif, Gunnerblog's James McNicholas and ArsenalFanTV's Robbie Lyle for their views...

The players aren't good enough
PAUL MERSON: Did you watch the first-half of the game against Stoke in their last home game? That's the reason why! The performances just haven't been good enough. The fans are paying top dollar and they haven't got top-dollar players on the pitch. Too many of them are nowhere near good enough to play for Arsenal Football Club.

The fans are fed up
ROBBIE LYLE: I think there's a lot of apathy. The fans are just fed up and they've had enough. They've seen a lot of the same problems continue year-after-year and at the moment they are voting with their feet.

The people that are staying away are the season ticket holders. There are some circumstances like having a lot of Sunday kick-offs but having said that, over previous years we've had games in the League Cup that have still sold out. Every game was sold out and you couldn't get a ticket for love nor money. The empty seats show there is definitely a problem and it can't be ignored. maxbet

Wenger's the issue
LAYTH YOUSIF: I think people have generally had enough of Wenger. They've had enough of underachieving in terms of challenging for the Premier League title and the Champions League. When the club moved from Highbury in 2005 the fans were effectively told a lie. They were told the club were moving to the Emirates to compete with the top clubs in both England and Europe, but that hasn't happened and a lot people are furious about it.

The club is stale
ALAN SMITH: There's a lack of enthusiasm generally from the fan base. Obviously the team are not going for anything significant in the league so nobody can really get excited about games which will decide who finishes fifth, sixth or seventh.

Tired of the same story
JAMES MCNICHOLAS: If you look at last season there was so much protest and so much anger but this time the absence of the fans is quite a passive protest. I actually think it's a more harmful one than the banners and the chanting because it's indicative of apathy. The empty seats will have more of an impact higher up the club because it's a message the board can't help but see. What's interesting about it is that it's not a financial message because most of these tickets are already sold, however, the empty seats are damaging for the club's brand, especially at a time when they are looking to negotiate a new kit deal and find a sleeve sponsor. The thousands upon thousands of empty seats is not a great look for the club. maxbet
